"Power wants your body softening in your chair and your emotions dissipating on the screen. Get outside. Put your body in unfamiliar places with unfamiliar people. Make new friends and march with them." - Timothy Snyder
The UNBC Political Science Student Association (PSSA) is relaunching in Winter 2026 with a renewed purpose:
to depolarize students by uniting people across ideological, cultural, and academic differences for the cause of a better future.
As mandated by the PSSA Constitution, we promote an active political atmosphere on campus and create a community for students interested in politics. However, under this presidency, our mission grows deeper:
to rebuild political culture through respectful dialogue, depolarization, and collective reasoning.
A UNBC political community where:
Students from all majors feel welcome
Difficult conversations happen safely
Ideas are challenged without hostility
Youth voices are heard by real political leaders
Students practice democracy — not as voters, but as thinkers
A generational movement for a better future begins
The PSSA under this administration is:
A movement, not merely a club
A cross-disciplinary space for political thought
A training ground for democratic dialogue
A neutral, nonpartisan platform
A bridge-builder in an age of polarization
A voice for young adults who feel unheard
We do not avoid controversy.
We embrace it responsibly — because democracy demands courage, not comfort.
